Looking Toward the Future
As an urban Episcopal cathedral, we witness and reflect God's love through worship, fellowship, prayer and action.

We know that a change in leadership, in the person of a new Dean, will provide us with new opportunities and directions yet to be discovered. We welcome the challenges and possibilities that this new ministry and the Holy Spirit have in store for us.

As we once again examine and articulate our mission, we find the substance of our goals our hopes and dreams in the Book of Common Prayer:

· By strengthening our personal faith and communal involvement, we seek to put our whole trust in God's grace and love and renew our commitment to Jesus Christ.

· Through rich and lively liturgy and music we endeavor to continue in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers.

· Through on-going and new education and outreach programs, we will proclaim by word and example the Good News, seek and serve Christ in all persons.

· As a catalyst for change, growth and diversity in the urban community, we strive for justice among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.

· We want to continue to develop, adapt and utilize our facilities for God's worship, the building up of the living and the remembrance of the dead.

· We seek a leader who proclaims by word and deed the Good News of God in Christ; one who will
·
minister the Word of God and the sacraments
· love, serve, nourish, strengthen and care for us
· preach and declare God's forgiveness
· be a faithful pastor
· be a wholesome example
· solemnly engage to conform to the doctrine, discipline and worship of the Episcopal Church.
