We are proud of many recent achievements and progress in our congregational life. Some of our more significant accomplishments in the last decade include:
· Providing expanded modern facilities in Founders' Hall as a part of our continuing support of the Kansas City Community Kitchen which now serves about 500 meals a day to the homeless and disadvantaged.
· Implementation of a Small Group Ministry, with more than two dozen active groups which foster faith, fellowship and participation in outreach and growth.
· Increased emphasis on nurturing our growing population of young families, with expanded nursery facilities and formation of the "Guild of the Christ Child."
· Discernment within our congregation of callings to ordination by six persons who have completed or are continuing their journey to the priesthood or diaconate.
· Serving as the gathering place for prayer and reflection for the city during the anniversary commemoration of events on September 11.
· Hosting a Christmas Eve Eucharist televised nationally on CBS in 2001, in conjunction with the Dioceses of West Missouri and Kansas and the Central States Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. This was an early manifestation of the working out of "Called to Common Mission."
· Celebrating the 25th anniversary of our Covenant relationship with the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, our neighbor two blocks away and our partner in many outreach and cultural activities.
